WinnMed is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our Laboratory Department. This position plays an important role in supporting quality patient care by assisting with specimen collection, laboratory testing, and daily laboratory operations.

As a lab assistant, you will perform phlebotomy duties and collect blood specimens from clinic inpatient and hospital outpatient patients. Key responsibilities include:

• Properly collecting, handling, labeling, and processing laboratory specimens.
• Performing laboratory specimen handling and waived testing.
• Performing Occupational Health laboratory testing.
• Completing clerical and administrative duties.
• Following laboratory policies, procedures, and applicable safety and quality standards.
• Providing professional and compassionate service to patients, visitors, and coworkers.

Schedule

1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

Rotating night and weekend shifts are required based on departmental staffing needs.

Training Provided

No prior phlebotomy experience? No problem! WinnMed provides on-the-job phlebotomy training to help you develop the skills needed to be successful in this position.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• American Heart Association BLS
• Moderate to advanced computer skills required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Phlebotomy training
• Previous phlebotomy experience
• Lab Assistant Certification from approved laboratory certification agency
